Ludovico Einaudi – Una Mattina (Played by Addliss)

In November or so I recorded „Una Mattina“, but hesitated to upload it, since it was not perfect. It still isn’t, but I recorded a pretty good version and I’m satisfied for now. Maybe you like this version since it’s a bit different from the original.

On a side note I found out, Einaudi mostly sounds good with very bright pianos. The mellow pianos don’t fit most of his music.

New set with Jaded underway

About 8 years ago (whoa!) I started working with my Hungarian friend Jaded. We worked out a mix and then one thing led to another until we had two trilogies of club music and chillout music respectively. It was Sunrise – Heaven – Gravity and Inspire – Recreate – Enlighten which were then featured on FriskyRadio. Now they’re gone, so I will upload them later again.

Life moved on, so we didn’t really manage to keep up. But in late 2019 we started a new project which led to a new dynamic. In these times of a global disease we got together closer again and mixed a chilled dance mix full of Progressive House to dream or to dance to. It’s a home listener’s mix between two countries, thousand miles apart but still close. Maybe this is what can keep our minds up – we still have each other, we still have music.

So on April 10th, 2020 Jaded and I will release a new mix with two parts – the first part is mixed by me, the second comes from Hungary. The set is called Between 2 Worlds which is maybe the best title we could come up with in these times.

Until then – stay safe.

Next Waves on 5 April 2020 feat. Sergey Tarasov

The novel coronavirus has the world in its hands. But I can assure you, Waves is here to calm your panic down! The spring edition of my Ambient/Chillout show is about to bring pads and synths through your speakers that will let you know: In the end everything will be fine.

With me I have the Russian Sergey Tarasov, whose tracks I have played throughout the years more than once. His production style is Chillout Trance mostly, but in his DJ sets he features some glitchy tunes with deep pads and rumbling beats, too. It is a revelation hearing his selection! In 2019 he already played a Chillout Sundays set on Frisky.

The second hour is music I picked with music by Stefan Grossmann, Astroleaf, DJ Shah, Jellis & Subsets and some other great artists. There is nothing to be missed here!

Take your time on Sunday, April 5th, 2020, at 7 a.m. EST / 1 p.m. CET to switch to FriskyRadio CHILL and lower your heartbeat. You deserve it!

Redux Sessions Guestmix on 1 March 2020

The Redux label family has been one of my biggest achievements in the last years. We are still connected and so I played a short guest mix of an hour for the Redux Spotlight Sessions. It will air on March 1st, 2020 (tomorrow!), at 3 p.m. CET on Globalbeats.fm with tunes by Robert Nickson, Cyril Ryaz, Nikolauss, Ferry Tayle or Sean Mathews. This will be a blast of uplifting music!

If you want to know more about the Spotlight Sessions here’s the last one with Terra V.!

Waves – 10 Years Anniversary feat. Xeuphoria

Writing it down, but I still can’t believe it: On the next Sunday I will have my 10-year-anniversary with Waves on FriskyRadio! I’ve had so many great shows, so many touching moments – be it with other artists or some fans. I’ve had great guests artist on my show and played so many fascinating and soothing tunes, but this time it will be different once again!

Monty Hancock aka Xeuphoria

Located in Southern England is the chillout and piano musician Xeuphoria who produces and plays instruments alike. I asked him about being my guest and he delivered a stunning performance of 1 hour piano improvisation! I guess, this will be on heavy rotation for me for quite some time.

So at first you will hear this hour of pure piano and after that I will play you some of the best Trance Ambient tunes you have heard. Just last year I delivered a similar set, but there are more amazing tracks to be played!

Be prepared for this week’s Waves to crash down on you on Sunday, February 2nd, 2020 at 7 a.m. EST / 1 p.m. CET on the FriskyRadio CHILL channel! Frisky also interviewed me about my anniversary.

High On Summer – Memories 2019 Midnight Getaway

The next to last installment of High On Summer – Memories 2019 is a mix of music you could listen to while sneaking away from a party or leaving the house for enjoyment of nature at night. This set contains music by Zgoot, New Horizons, Gregory Esayan, Maiga, Matt Fax and many others. Enjoy!

Yiruma – River Flows In You (Played by Addliss)

The latest piano tunes I recorded have led me to playing some faster stuff and River Flows In You is just a flowing melody. Don’t expect me to know or like the books/movies that have afterwards been linked to the piece, I merely love the music this Japanese composer wrote.

There are 2 or 3 points where the recording isn’t perfect, but I’ll accept that for now.

Alan Silvestri – Feather Theme (Piano Recording)

While playing the piano more and more again, I have played some movie scores. I’ve always loved the „Forrest Gump“ movie score and here is the main theme, the feather theme. Don’t tell me it’s not perfectly played (like a pianist could), I know, but it’s a beautiful piece of music!

Delete: Facebook

Dear friends, for quite some time thoughts went around in my mind, how to straighten up my analogue and digital identity. The reasons are as follows:

  1. I appreciate data sovereignity.
  2. I want to organise my day autonomously.
  3. I want to produce my music focussed and avoid distraction.
  4. I want range of influence for my music.

These 4 points are not completely consistent as you gain influence in the music business partly by using Facebook. Unfortunately you then depend on this instrument which has been causing some distress for me. Facebook is problematic:

  1. It’s an advertisement instrument which uses our data to generate revenue on us. Partly we reveal our data freely because we want to share with acquaintances, friends and family. But mainly we share these information with Facebook, which I don’t intend to accept anymore.
  2. Facebook is tracking all and every clicks and mouse movements we do on their platform. Also, if you’re logged in in your browser it is tracking all of your other tabs that are open. It’s more or less known, but I don’t intend to accept it anymore.
  3. Facebook is asking for constant interaction with it, with other people, to look at ads. Partly we let it determine our daily schedule and I don’t intend to accept it anymore.

All these reasons have led to the decision to delete my Facebook account within the next two weeks. And I do mean delete, not deactivate.

Connected to the Facebook company are subsidiaries like Instagram (which I used only briefly) and WhatsApp. As I have a big number of private contacts on WhatsApp I will give myself 6 months time to delete it.

If you want to keep contact you can always use these channels:

So weit, so bekannt.

Next „In Between“ on 23 August 2019 feat. Maiga

Since having long time no guest on In Between I decided I should have some of them back! I’m starting with the American German Maiga! He will join me on tomorrow’s show with an hour of his definition of melodic progressive music! We decided to take the moment since he has just released his latest EP on Synth Collective called Embers / Close.

The second hour will be mixed by me, of course. I picked some really deeeep tunes and worked up to real classic progressive Trance! It’s a bit of a tightrope walking, but for me it worked just fine.

Tune in and enjoy the show on Friday on the regular FriskyRadio channel!

2 p.m. EST / 8 p.m. CET Maiga
3 p.m. EST / 9 p.m. CET Addliss
