Waves – 15th Anniversary on 2nd February 2025

Wow, how time flies by! 15 year have gone until I mixed the first Waves show in 2010 and a lot has happened since then. I have played thousands and thousands of tunes, maybe hundreds of artists and several styles.

The show ranges from traditional Chillout from the likes of Conjour One, Reuben Halsey or Vangelis over classical music represented by Afternova, Ludovico Einaudi or Yann Tiersen, also Ambient by Night Note, Ivan Black, Brian Eno or The Oxford Ambient Collective or experimental music by Olafur Arnalds, Ullapul or The Quietist finally to Dubstep from Bonobo, Burial, Massive Attack or Rameses B, Trance Ambient by Above & Beyond, Tenishia or Pedro del Mar and Postrock by Hammock or jazzdefector.

The show has had very different shows with breakbeats, beatless shows, piano only, dubstep and drum & bass, experimental or melodic shows, so I had the task to put together an anniversary representing all this variety! To be fair: You could say I failed. And you could say I prevailed. Considering all the big names and all the styles I couldn’t put everything together in one show. That would have been a 4 hours show at least!

But on the other hand there is music by a lot of very important artists in different styles: Chicane, Magdelayna, MoonRacer, Above & Beyond, The Thrillseekers, Thomas Newman, Classical Glass, BT, Brombaer, Imogen Heap, Vito von Gert and many others. The first hour features some newer sounds from 2024 and 2025, the second hour brings you back with some classical sounds by some of the most influential artists for me in the last 15 years. As stated earlier I couldn’t get everything crammed into this show, but I think some of the best are in there. And maybe some forgotten gems.

Finally I had to put in one of my own productions representing my Ambient style. And there had to be one tune in the show by Ingo Vogelmann. At first he is a big influence in my musical work. Second he brought me to FriskyRadio and gave my career a big push. So he had to be in there!

So don’t miss this special show on February 2nd, 2025, and tune into Frisky CHILL at 7 a.m. EST / 1 p.m. CET!

Next WAVES on 7 January 2024

The new year is beginning with a big Chillout show! I have looked for some of the best Ambient tunes in 2023 and put them together in the new Waves for FriskyRadio CHILL. There are melodies by Random J, Numedian, MLDJ or Cloudcage.

Of course I had to include BT’s July album The Secret Language of Trees, which is nothing groundbreaking new but a great successor for albums like Morceau Subrosa or If The Stars Are Eternal So Are You and I. I love the break beats, the chiming pads or the glitch sounds, which are just as much not to sound like completely experimental.

The second important feature is just one track by my friend Ingo Vogelmann. He has released not less than 3 albums in the past year and he showed why he is one of the leaders for emotional music for me.

Now you know what to expect from the new show. So tune in on Sunday, January 7th, 2024 to FriskyRadio CHILL at 7 a.m. EST / 1 p.m. CET and enjoy the first chilled Waves of the new year!

Ingo Vogelmann – Bereft (Review)

Ingo Vogelmann will release his fourth album in 2023. Being away from music production for quite some time Vogelmann seems to have his most productive year so far. After As Above, So Below, Weigthless, and Elegy for the Living he digs deeper into Ambient soundscapes. Long story short: listen to it and contemplate the reason you exist. It is best suited for very close listening and exploring your mind. It will be released on every platform on November 3rd, 2023 – for example Bandcamp, Spotify or Apple Music. Ingo sent me a review copy upfront so I could give it a listen.

Next WAVES on 6 August 2023

The second half of the year has begun and every new month means a new WAVES on FriskyRadio! This time I picked some very special pad tunes from Night Note, Adam Francis, Sonic Scope and Numedian.

Having released 3 albums this year, my good friend Ingo Vogelmann is a guest in the playlist again with 3 tunes. Of course you can look forward to hearing some epic orchestra or some chilled beats again, but the piano isn’t as wide spread as usual on the show.

So don’t miss this episode and tune into FriskyRadio CHILL on Sunday, August 6th, 2023 at 7 a.m. ESST / 1 p.m. CEST. Enjoy your Chillout Sunday!

Jaded & Addliss – Sunrise

Back in 2012/2013 Jaded from Hungary and I started a mix series. At first we just wanted to share some progressive tunes (mostly progressive Trance). Then we discovered it was working out well and crafted a trilogy with some even more progressive and housey tunes. The rest is history – the trilogy Sunrise – Gravity – Heaven was born. It was featured on FriskyRadio later and, since it’s gone, I wanted to share it with you again. It’s still a series I love to listen to!

Sunrise is the opening mix with Jaded playing some really proggy and bouncy tunes with me joining in with some more flowing vibes. Enjoy!

Ingo Vogelmann – Long Road To Self (Re-Release)

Some years ago I made some remixes for my friend Ingo Vogelmann. It was about his album cycle GOD he had created as a series of concept albums. I immediately took a track that represented music for me as a whole: It’s a long road to discover yourself and music helps you doing that. While producing I also learned so much, developing a new style I hadn’t produced before.

Today this track still stands as a statement: Everyday I’m discovering more and more of myself and music still helps becoming the person I want to be. So this track is still as important as can be.

Recently Ingo & I decided to re-release some of our work together and we made 2020 re-masters of some of our tracks. So here it comes: Ingo Vogelmann – Long Road To Self including my remix! Make sure to pre-order it so you will get it on January 4th, 2020!
