Next WAVES on 6th April 2025

Waves is always a special occasion for me to calm down, to experiment, to explore different soundscapes. The April episode will be just this: I put in some really experimental tunes like Need by Rzekomo, melodysheep’s The Unbroken Thread or the opener by Moderat: Copy Copy. The more beautiful tracks with melody, piano and warm pads are from the likes of Ginc, Glimpse, Brombaer or Owsey.

The experimental, glitchy sounds are part of a small tribute: In January 2015 Edgar Froese died. He was a pioneer of the electronic movement, always looking for new sounds, trying out new ways of music. Edgar founded the iconic band Tangerine Dream who crafted the sound for the electronic avantgarde. The Berlin school was even named after artists like him working in Berlin on electronic instruments. Thus I also included Ivan Black’s For Edgar and Gravitation’s Wormhole Fx 61 composed in the analogue Berlin school style.

In Between – 13 Years Anniversary on March 28th 2025

It has taken quite some time to realise: In Between is already 13 years old. I’ve been mixing this show with deep house, progressive house and progressive Trance for this long time now – every month with the same joy! I love picking the tunes, putting them together to a full, nice set of fitting melodies and beats, and finally mixing and listening later. It is like working on a piece as a craftsman and later being proud you made it.

So this time I took some of the hottest tunes right now and compiled music by the likes of Emre K, Manu & Bennett, Pouls3n, the new Paul van Dyk, Marcel Vautier and many others. I had to include a classic by Hydroid – The Eternal which probably was one of my go to tunes when it came to progressive Trance back in the days when I started this show.

So tune into FriskyRadio on Friday, March 28th, 2025 at 2 p.m. ESST / 7 p.m. CET – mind the different summer time in Europe and the US!

Waves – 15th Anniversary on 2nd February 2025

Wow, how time flies by! 15 year have gone until I mixed the first Waves show in 2010 and a lot has happened since then. I have played thousands and thousands of tunes, maybe hundreds of artists and several styles.

The show ranges from traditional Chillout from the likes of Conjour One, Reuben Halsey or Vangelis over classical music represented by Afternova, Ludovico Einaudi or Yann Tiersen, also Ambient by Night Note, Ivan Black, Brian Eno or The Oxford Ambient Collective or experimental music by Olafur Arnalds, Ullapul or The Quietist finally to Dubstep from Bonobo, Burial, Massive Attack or Rameses B, Trance Ambient by Above & Beyond, Tenishia or Pedro del Mar and Postrock by Hammock or jazzdefector.

The show has had very different shows with breakbeats, beatless shows, piano only, dubstep and drum & bass, experimental or melodic shows, so I had the task to put together an anniversary representing all this variety! To be fair: You could say I failed. And you could say I prevailed. Considering all the big names and all the styles I couldn’t put everything together in one show. That would have been a 4 hours show at least!

But on the other hand there is music by a lot of very important artists in different styles: Chicane, Magdelayna, MoonRacer, Above & Beyond, The Thrillseekers, Thomas Newman, Classical Glass, BT, Brombaer, Imogen Heap, Vito von Gert and many others. The first hour features some newer sounds from 2024 and 2025, the second hour brings you back with some classical sounds by some of the most influential artists for me in the last 15 years. As stated earlier I couldn’t get everything crammed into this show, but I think some of the best are in there. And maybe some forgotten gems.

Finally I had to put in one of my own productions representing my Ambient style. And there had to be one tune in the show by Ingo Vogelmann. At first he is a big influence in my musical work. Second he brought me to FriskyRadio and gave my career a big push. So he had to be in there!

New „Arrivals“ on 7 February 2025

As you already know from last years dates my good friend Jaded and I have a new show on FriskyRadio. We have been collaborating from 2012 on and so we decided we should team up for an irregular show. And as you all know in the beginning you sometimes get carried away so we already mixed the third installment!

The first two shows have already aired in August and October and were two progressive mixes. Now we thought of something different – movie scores and game scores. Jaded is a big movie score enthusiast and played a great variety, I myself focussed on game scores that have always fascinated me. I especially picked some tunes from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the two Ori games or Arise – A Simple Story.

Next Waves on 5 January 2025

The New Year has just begun and FriskyRadio is delivering the next Chillout waves for your pleasure! As you know my routine I try to put together some of the best Chillout tunes from the recent year and so you will hear music by Numedian and Nipika, who both released an album. Rzekomo, Roald Velden and Adam Francis are regular guests in my show as well as Chicane. You will also relisten compositions by Brombaer and Classical Glass, both of which I featured with a special show in July and August respectively.

Finally I will present my newest remix project of Remember by Activa back in 2008. I took the club banger and put it into an all beautiful melodic tune without any beats. This track will also be released on Soundcloud on Sunday as a free download!

Next WAVES on 1 December 2024 – Soluna Music Special

The last Waves of 2024 are just around the corner. So I picked some really sweet tunes to present you the magic of Soluna Music chillout! They have been putting out outstanding melodic Progressive House in the last years and time and time again there are some ambient or chillout tunes. To celebrate their extraordinary taste I played music by Numedian, Cullera, Deidian, Darius, Skyline Project, Lumidelic and many many more!

New Show: Jaded & Addliss – Arrivals

As you know me, I’m always looking for new horizons and good connections to work with. A long time friend and amazing DJ collaborator is Jaded from Hungary. We already worked out Chillout mixes like Inspire, Recreate and Enlighten more than 10 years ago. On Frisky you can still hear the following trilogy Sunrise – Gravity – Heaven with different styles, ranging from Tech House to Progressive Trance. In the following years we released sets in irregular time spans, also with Chillout and Dance music.

This time we worked out a show with progressive vibes from the scratch called Arrivals which already had its first episode in August! It features some of the best melodic progressive music of the last months from the likes of Cullera, Zgoot, Blood Groove & Kikis, Jody Wisternoff and many more. Following up tomorrow, October 4th 2024, you will hear the second episode with Yotto, Tinlicker, Jerome Isma-Ae, Mango & Cloudcage, Sasha Sound and others. Prepare for some groovy beats!

We will continue this series irregularly, but always with a great set-up of music!

Latest Waves with Special for Brombaer and Chicane

From time to time I love to play specials for music styles or artists, like last month for Classical Glass. This month I stumbled upon one of my favourite artists again: Brombaer. In the 2010s I played a lot of great tunes he produced back then. He released more classically inspired music lately, so I had to dedicate the August show to his music.

While compiling this show I realized I hadn’t played much Chicane songs lately and he released so much great music in the last years. Thus I put his tracks in the second hour and planned some fitting tunes around those.

The third special in this show is an Ambient remix I produced of a classic Trance tune. Activa’s Remember was a banger back in the days and I always wanted it to be playable in Chillout sets. So I had to produce it myself and I will make it available in the next days!

All in all last Sunday there was a show with some high notes and some very very chilled sounds. You can find the stream on demand on Frisky CHILL. Go there, listen and relax!

In Between – 12 Years Anniversary on 22 March 2024

It feels like yesterday when I first started In Between. It is a show I put all my heart into playing progressive sounds – some deep, some more melodic, but always soulful music. In a few days this show turns 12 and I put together some representative tunes to celebrate this. Beginning with deep, rolling stuff by Roald Velden, Aurum or Baud Rate I turned it to melodic uplifting by Nipika, Cosmaks or Terry Gaters. It is full of small elements which you will appreciate, I am sure of that!

Next „In Between“ on 26 January 2024

The first month of 2024 has almost passed and it’s time for your monthly injection of melodic progressive on In Between again! This time I have put together a mix of very melodic and chilled tunes in the beginning, featuring a new release coming on Minded Music again – Roald Velden’s label of organic and soulful music.

Also I have discovered the new producer Pouls3n who is really killing it with his atmospheric and emotional style. Prepare for his music! The rest is nothing less than you are used to by my show: great stuff by Lesh, Cosmaks, Lumidelic, Skyhunter and many more!
