Track of the Day: Kalandra – Ghosts (30-11-2024)

There are lots of outstanding tunes released every year, every month, even everyday. But sometimes you encounter a song that you instantly know is something really special. I didn’t know Kalandra until yesterday and my friend Ingo Vogelmann recommended their song Ghosts to me. As I listened I immediately felt the special atmosphere.

The topic is very deep, revolving around lost family, the dark season of the year and the soothing effect of music during pensive hours. And while being very simple in the melody it is never boring. That’s why it is my track of the day today!

New Show: Jaded & Addliss – Arrivals

As you know me, I’m always looking for new horizons and good connections to work with. A long time friend and amazing DJ collaborator is Jaded from Hungary. We already worked out Chillout mixes like Inspire, Recreate and Enlighten more than 10 years ago. On Frisky you can still hear the following trilogy Sunrise – Gravity – Heaven with different styles, ranging from Tech House to Progressive Trance. In the following years we released sets in irregular time spans, also with Chillout and Dance music.

This time we worked out a show with progressive vibes from the scratch called Arrivals which already had its first episode in August! It features some of the best melodic progressive music of the last months from the likes of Cullera, Zgoot, Blood Groove & Kikis, Jody Wisternoff and many more. Following up tomorrow, October 4th 2024, you will hear the second episode with Yotto, Tinlicker, Jerome Isma-Ae, Mango & Cloudcage, Sasha Sound and others. Prepare for some groovy beats!

We will continure this series irregularly, but always with a great set-up of music!

So tune in to Frisky regular channel tomorrow, October 4th 2024, at 12 p.m. ESST / 6 p.m. CEST and enjoy our show!

Activa – Remember (Addliss Chillout Remix) [Sample]

Back in 2008 Activa was on his first high to present his iconic track Remember which maybe every Trance DJ played. It was one of the biggest tracks in the 2000s for me and still is one of my favourites of all time. Just sitting at home diseased I remembered the tune and had to try out the melody. So I thought of a Chillout remake which would suit the melody really well!

Not wasting any time I made it and, of course, there’s still a lot to finish like EQing, effects, maybe some percussions (?), I don’t know yet. But you can hear a short sneak preview on my Soundcloud:

If you like it, tell me! I will do my best to finish it in the near future!

Ingo Vogelmann – Bereft (Review)

Ingo Vogelmann will release his fourth album in 2023. Being away from music production for quite some time Vogelmann seems to have his most productive year so far. After As Above, So Below, Weigthless, and Elegy for the Living he digs deeper into Ambient soundscapes. Long story short: listen to it and contemplate the reason you exist. It is best suited for very close listening and exploring your mind. It will be released on every platform on November 3rd, 2023 – for example Bandcamp, Spotify or Apple Music. Ingo sent me a review copy upfront so I could give it a listen.

Track of the Day (23 Jan 2023)

I can’t say how much I love this tune! Stoneface & Terminal are two of my Trance heroes, they used to produce mad tunes and still do today. But maybe my favourite tune by them is more progressive than uplifting Trance. Everytime I hear the breakdown, I can fly to the moon and back!

If you have the opportunity, listen on headphones (not earphones!) or good speakers and enjoy!

Why I abandoned Social Media

As you might have noticed I abandoned Twitter for more than over a month now. I deactivated the account as soon as it was clear Elon Musk overtook the enterprise. But why did I do that?

Too much power

At first I observed the ongoing process of Elon Musk buying Twitter skeptically. It took quite some time, but I knew: As soon as this man will have another enterprise in his portfolio he will have way too much in his hands. He owns Tesla, SpaceX, now Twitter and some other big corporations in different industries. I’m convinced one person shouldn’t have so much power over different branches of life of so many people since all people are fallible. And as soon as one person has so much power, every failure in judgment will have capital consequences.

Jaded & Addliss – Sunray

The days are shortening, light is fading, but there’s this one sunray that lights your day. My friend Jaded and I tried to catch this ray of light in a mix of music. Sometimes soothing and warming, sometimes energizing.

The music comes from some big names like GMJ, Jaytech, 16 Bit Lolitas, Jody Wisternoff, or Chicane and some underground artists like Bebetta, Kosco, Stendahl, Rafal Sentiel, or Yasin Guven.

Maybe you need a new mix to listen on a long road trip or a good way to start your day. „Sunray“ will enlighten you!

Jaded & Addliss – New Tomorrow

Jaded & Addliss has been a duo working on collaborative mixes since 2012. We forged chill mixes like Inspire or Recreate with movie scores and chillout. Later we crafted out pumping mixes like Sunrise and Gravity that really could set your speakers on fire. After a long time without collaboration we rediscovered old strengths and gathered our forces again for a new mix last year. It was a slow, but groovy set, showing we still had to learn from one another. So we had to do a new chillout set!

The COVID-19 pandemic has been quite a journey for most of us. So this is New Tomorrow reminiscing all the hardship, but also telling a musical story not to lose hope for a bright future – however and whenever it might occur. It is about movie scores, movie score like ambient tunes and some classical music. Jaded played some Alexandre Desplat, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, or Thomas Newman – some of the most iconic score composers. I picked some music from Harry Gregson Williams, William Orbit, A Cerulean State, or Vince Forwards – also some score music, but surrounded by Ambient music.

So now dive deep into relaxation and the sweet sounds of „New Tomorrow“.

Single: World Flow [OUT NOW]

World Flow is my newest single release with a heavy kick, some stab synths, a rather long melody line and a tight mix (under 6 minutes). I wanted to create a modern track, not too long, but the stab synths with following supersaw synths definitely evoke a classic feeling.

Now the track is released on a new, uprising label called Tecnomind Music which has been releasing a lot of great stuff lately. On Soundcloud you can hear a small prelistening session of my original and the Emotion Love remix I really appreciate:

You can now buy the track on all available sources: Beatport, Apple Music, Juno Download, Google Music, Amazon [1, 2] or you can stream it on Spotify, Deezer or other streaming services.

If you want to listen to the full track in a mix, head to my latest mixes of Epiphany of Sound [112, 113]. Anyway I’m grateful to any support you show me. Enjoy the music!
