When thinking of Trance never forget Epiphany of Sound which brings back progressive vibes and banging beats this time. I put in some tunes by Young Hu, Farius & Solarstone, Sean Mathews, Mark Hide and some great other stuff.
You’ve been waiting for this one way too long: Epiphany of Sound episode 180 brings back the big beats, the lush pads, the angelic melodies and all of this in a maximum style! I picked tunes by the epic and legendary Ferry Tayle who has been enriching this scene for over 2 decades.
This episode ranges from the progressive style under the alias Cape Town over the flowing Trance with ‚The Wizard‘ style or collaborations with Stephan R to the absolute bangers with Dan Stone, Aly & Fila or Daniel Kandi. So you will enter a long journey of pure Trance with the maestro himself: Ferry Tayle all the way!
For quite some time I haven’t posted a track of the day, but in the last days this one really has been following me: Farius is a quite new name in the industry, at least for me. He teamed up with the veteran and legend Solarstone to produce Barton Springs which has some progressive influences and still manages to have the fresh and emotional Trance vibe of Solarstone. I like the pretty basic stab synths combined with melodic vocal samples and both worked out with some nice delay that forge wide atmosphere. Also the filtered piano broadens the sound and the main synth evokes such a positive aura that you just have a feeling of the perfect day.
Markus DJ Studio filmed some beautiful shots of nature that accompany the atmospheric music in this video. Get your headphones and listen while enjoying wonderful perspectives of the world out there!
What does usually take time and comes in with a bang? Right – it’s Epiphany of Sound and this time it’s kind of a tribute episode for some older tracks. Of course I included newer tunes by Mazeev, Corrie Theron, BIS or Miditekk. But there are also older tracks by Cressida remixed by Stoneface & Terminal, Solarstone remixed by Stowers & Bostock or the iconic Andy Blueman with classic tunes from the 2010 era. I just rediscovered some of them recently and had to play them.
Did you miss Epiphany of Sound? I missed it and so I took the time to put together a hammering episode with music by Andy Moor, Terra V, Will Atkinson, Alan Morris and many more. Also I had to include more than one classic so you should listen closely to the last section!
There’s nothing better than a great intro for a pumping Trance set. And when it comes to chillout foreplay Chicane always delivers! So this time I took his „Already There“ as the wings you fly on to new music by Ashoka, Solarstone, Ferry Tayle, Milosh K and many others. Also the classic Mashup at the end will send you to heaven!
Prepare your speakers for just another episode of Epiphany of Sound! The tracklist contains Kayosa & Tolland, Solarstone & Scott Bond, BluSkay, Dennis Pedersen but also newcomers like Epyxx.
The classic this time is by Albert Vorne – M.I.K.E.’s remix of A Leaden Day is just iconic!
Slowly I’m getting back on track with „Epiphany of Sound“ mixing more and more regularly. Here is episode 96 with some back catalogue tunes from 2018 still which can’t be missed. It’s Driftmoon, Phillip J, Solarstone, Tranzvission, Manuel Roca and others which present super saw melodies and driving beats! For the classic moment I rediscovered Alex M.O.R.P.H.’s New Horizons and loved how Mike Shiver remixed it. Just awesome music!
Finally it has come to this: My Top 20 of 2018 are revealed. I loved mixing every minute of this hearing all those amazing tunes time and time again!
This mix is filled with great producers like Matt Eray, Illitheas, Ciaran McAuley, Ferry Tayle, Sean Mathews, Exouler, Activa, James Dymon, Dan Stone, and the outstanding Cold Blue once again. At the top we have 3 tunes I couldn’t decide which would be my track of the year, because they are so different. The one is with vocals, the other one very powerful, nearly technoid and the third one has such a sweet and petite melody I could never resist.
