It feels like yesterday when I first started In Between. It is a show I put all my heart into playing progressive sounds – some deep, some more melodic, but always soulful music. In a few days this show turns 12 and I put together some representative tunes to celebrate this. Beginning with deep, rolling stuff by Roald Velden, Aurum or Baud Rate I turned it to melodic uplifting by Nipika, Cosmaks or Terry Gaters. It is full of small elements which you will appreciate, I am sure of that!

The first month of 2024 has almost passed and it’s time for your monthly injection of melodic progressive on In Between again! Jaded & Addliss has been a duo working on collaborative mixes since 2012. We forged chill mixes like Inspire or Recreate with movie scores and chillout. Later we crafted out pumping mixes like Sunrise and Gravity that really could set your speakers on fire. After a long time without collaboration we rediscovered old strengths and gathered our forces again for a new mix last year. It was a slow, but groovy set, showing we still had to learn from one another. So we had to do a new chillout set!
The COVID-19 pandemic has been quite a journey for most of us. So this is New Tomorrow reminiscing all the hardship, but also telling a musical story not to lose hope for a bright future – however and whenever it might occur. It is about movie scores, movie score like ambient tunes and some classical music. Jaded played some Alexandre Desplat, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, or Thomas Newman – some of the most iconic score composers. I picked some music from Harry Gregson Williams, William Orbit, A Cerulean State, or Vince Forwards – also some score music, but surrounded by Ambient music.
So now dive deep into relaxation and the sweet sounds of „New Tomorrow“.
Between 2 Worlds is a mix reflecting all that makes Jaded’s and my friendship so special. We can always fit our music together – melodies, beats, grooves, pads and everything else. It’s always interesting and thrilling since we put another aspect into play every now and then. But we can always rely on the other part recognizing the feeling of the bigger picture.
So now here we have a mix starting off with chilled beats by Roald Velden leading to more groovy basslines. It’s perfect for spring and maybe it can start your spring – even in these difficult times at home. Maybe in your garden, maybe in your living room or your kitchen.
The final chapter of the memory series is here! High on Summer has covered a lot of uptempo and more chilled tunes, now this is the most relaxed mix with Roald Velden, New Horizons, Lesh, LTN, Renaldas, The Midnight and wrapping it up with The Thrillseekers‘ In These Arms featured on his album in 2016.
My memories of the summer 2019 have reached their peak and with this fourth mix we can let our thoughts travel back to the times we woke up from a nice party. Maybe it was Saturday or Sunday Morning, we had our chilled late breakfast and pondered in memories of the great party with some melodies in our heads.

„High on Summer“ has been my summer mix I released every year from 2014 to 2017. Now in 2018 I didn’t make it, but that’s why I decided to make a whole series out of it for 2019. It’s a series in memory of the great summer of 2019 to remember at the end of the year.
It has different approaches: While the opening set „Lying in the Sun“ is more chilled, others like „Driving Through The Landscape“ has more energy. the last one called „Summer Nightsky“ is nearly Chillout then. So everyone should find something to enjoy in this series!

End of May is approaching and that means a new episode of In Between is around the corner! I have invited a German master of mixing who has held a radio residency for quite a while: Sandro Marques. Not only has he been being an experienced DJ since 2001, but he also counts as a member of DasDing Plattenleger Crew since 2010, which is a FM radio in Germany. His style is more technoid or housy than usual for In Between, but it’s really groovy music!
The second hour is a typical melodic prog House set I have compiled featuring Maiga, Mitiska, Keith Harris, Axxound and of course the master Roald Velden! Everything will air on May 25th as usual at 2 p.m. EST / 8 p.m. CET on the regular FriskyRadio channel. Tune in and join the #TGIFrisky!
